Scenario: When opening the 2016 program for the first time today on some computers, the Tax Program Service is not restarting after automatic updates. The result is the program opening without prompting for a username. The preparer will be logged in as a blank preparer with no role assigned.
Work around: Close the program and re-open it. The username and password login box should come up on the screen after re-opening the program.
Solution: This will be corrected in an update release later this week.
