Pro Online: Status of “Transmit”: What now? (Added Scenario)

Updated Information:  Another scenario where the return is in “Transmitted” is if the return was marked complete and Ready for Review.  The return should be been in a Review Pending status, but as a safeguard, the application will not send the return until it marked Approved.

Scenario:  My federal return has been in the status of “Transmitted” for more than 24 hours.

Recommendation: Step 1 is to run the Validation Errors report to see if the return failed secondary validation and was rejected by the Processing Center.   Step 2:  If the return has been in the status of Transmitted for more than 24 hours and there are no validation errors, you can resend the return.

(1) Open the return

(2) Navigate to e-file

(3) Either Save and Send return to IRS or mark it  Ready to Retransmit and add it to your next transmission.
