“The Illinois Department of Revenue maintenance has been completed. We are again processing MeF submissions. We have picked up all files from the IRS that had been held during the shutdown, which began yesterday morning and continued through early afternoon today. We will be processing and acknowledging the files. Thank you for your patience during this process and I apologize for the confusion with the dates/day of week I  provided in the original email.”

June 18th

Software vendors received the below messaging from Illinois Department of Revenue.

“Due to unexpected required maintenance, the Illinois Department of Revenue will not be processing MeF returns beginning 8:00 AM CT, Thursday, 06/19/2019. We expect this interruption in service to continue through approximately 12:00 PM CT, Tuesday, 06/25/2019. We will honor IRS received dates on all payments and returns received during this timeframe.”

Any Illinois returns submitted during this window will not receive an acknowledgement until the maintenance window has closed and processing of acknowledgements has resumed.

The site will be placed in maintenance on Tuesday, June 18th to release the below software updates.

ARIZONA

• AZ returns rejected with Reject Code 708 for incorrect AGI calculation can be resubmitted at this time (Issue 3677)

CONNECTICUT

• Correct a display issue on the Part-Year CT return for Schedule CT-1040AW, Line 5, Column B. Values were not displaying but were included in overall calc (Issue 3556)

DEPENDENT/QUALIFYING PERSON

• Correct the issue where a 404 error was displayed when saving from within the Dependent/Qualifying Person page (Issue 3679)

PRINT SETS

• Adding the ability for group level logins to set default print sets down to the site level (Enhancement)

The fix for Issue 3679 is scheduled to be pushed live the morning of 6/18/2019.

6/13/2019 at 3:55pm ET:

We have opened a high priority ticket (Issue 3679) for development to review/resolve an issue where users are receiving a 404 error screen when clicking “Continue” to save a dependent/qualifying person entry. We will update this post once this issue has been resolved.

FORM 1099-R

• Checkbox has been added, that if marked, the taxable amount will not carry to Form 8880, Line 4 as a current year distribution. This would be used for retirement distributions that should not be included when determining the Retirement Contributions Credit (Enhancement)
  • A couple examples of current year retirement distributions to exclude from the Retirement Savings Contribution Credit would be Military Retirement Distributions, Distributions with Code 4 in Box 7 (death benefit), or a loan taken out of your qualified employer plan as a distributions. Additional retirement distribution types to exclude are found on Form 8880, Line 4 instructions – Click Here.

LOUISIANA

• Correct an issue within the Retirement Benefits subtraction menu where Spouse retirement dates were not being saved correctly (Issue 3214)

SCHEDULE D – CAPITAL GAIN and LOSS

• Correct an issue where originally saving a capital gain/loss item as a worthless sale would not be updated to reflect an actual sales date if edited (Issue 3644)

ZIP CODE DATABASE

• Adding zip codes 25403, 25404, and 25405 for Martinsburg, WV (Issue 3660)

• Corrected the issue where an error was received when searching Client List by Last 4, Name – First or Last, or Preparer – First or Last. This was specific to sites not using Smart Search (Issue 3625)

E-FILE

• Correct an issue on the e-file page for Direct Debit, where the Taxpayer Phone Number could not be updated after initially pulling from Basic Information (Issue 3296)

PREPARER SETUP

• Added ability to “archive” a preparer. This is an additional category adding to “active” and “inactive”. Read this blog post for additional details here (Enhancement)
