3/7/25 – This is now resolved. We are now in the process of identifying impacted returns that have been previously filed and working with the states to determine next steps (whether states will auto-adjust or if amended returns should be filed). Additional guidance will be provided when available. There is no action on your part at this time.

This is reported as Issue 3052 and the fix is scheduled to be deployed tomorrow morning, March 7th.

Issue: When going back into an existing 1099-R to either edit or review, the state information may be duplicated and shown twice within the 1099-R. Click the “Clear” option to remove any duplicate state information before continuing out of the 1099-R.

2/28/25 – This has been resolved.

We are getting intermittent reports of the full state menu being displayed after completing the personal page.  We are looking into this.  We recommend that you click Exit State Program at the bottom to move to the rest of the basic information section.  DO NOT complete your state return at this point (while in basic information).  You can prepare the state from the State Section of the return.

4:30pm ET: This issue has been resolved and all impacted returns have been resent from our end. There is nothing you need to do at your site(s) other than waiting on the acks to come back. Acks should start to come back withing 30 minutes to a hour.

We are aware and actively looking into an issue where SSN’s that begin with zero (0) are being stripped from the SSN when transmitted causing a validation error. This post will be updated once the issue has been resolved. Please DO NOT resend impacted returns as they will only validate again.

1:00pm ET: This has been resolved. Note: The current e-file block has been temporarily removed so WV an be e-filed. However, WV is requiring that e-mail addresses be provided as a requirement for e-file. If an e-mail address is not provided in the Federal Basic Information page, any WV return will validate.

2/12/25 – 11:00am ET: We are aware and actively working an issue where West Virginia returns are receiving an e-file block for missing e-mail address when the e-mail address is present in Federal Basic Information. This post will be updated when this issue has been resolved.

2/7/25 – This is now resolved.

2/5/25 – The fix has been made in pre-production and is tentatively scheduled to be deployed to production on 2/7/25.

This currently impacts the 1040-NR return in both TaxSlayer Pro Online and FSA (Facilitated Self-Assistance).

  • Issue 2824: Navigating to the e-file menu for the first time in a 1040-NR return is removing the “Days Present in the U.S.” entries within the Schedule OI – General Information menu.
    • Workaround: After navigating to the e-file menu for the first time, exit e-file and go back to the Schedule OI – General Information page and re-enter the days present in the U.S. The entry will stay saved when navigating back to e-file.

Update 12/12/2024  12:23 PM:  A resolution has been deployed that prevents the error.  The originally issued links are fine (it was an issue inside the application).  If your link has expired, please reach out to VITA/TCE support and they will send you a new Site Administrator link.

We began importing the first round of orders this morning (12/12) and we are aware of an issue with the links included in the New Site & New Site Admin e-mails. The links are not allowing a new site/admin to save their login information and instead are receiving a “You do not have access to modify this value” error when attempting to save. We are actively investigating.
