Update 1/25/2024 12:50 PM EST)…  Remember my comment “the times are subject to change or stop based on feedback from the IRS”….well…the IRS will not be conducting controlled launch on Friday, January 26th.  We have turned on e-file and will turn it back off at 4:00 PM until mid-morning on January 29th.

Update (1/24/2024 3:09 pm EST)..  We have turned off electronic filing. We will open e-file again on Friday, January 26th from 9 am -4 pm EST.  The times are subject to change or stop based on feedback from the IRS.

We had 592 returns submitted.  If your return did not get transmitted to the IRS during this window, we will hold it and submit it either Thursday the 25th or when e-file opens on the 29th.

Open Issue found:  The following two TaxSlayer Pro Online reports are not currently rendering data

  • IRS Acknowledgements
  • Old IRS Acknowledgements

Update (1/24/2024 11:21 am EST)…  We are sending returns to the IRS and receiving acknowledgements.  We are still stepping through all of the processes before we allow everything to be automated.

The IRS is moving into week two of controlled launch. We are Tentatively planning to open e-file for TY2023 returns for a short period of time on Wednesday, January 24th from 10am – 3pm EST.

During this period, we will send VITA/TCE returns to the IRS and receive acknowledgements. We strongly recommend you open and review the return before sending, especially if you created the return when we opened on the 15th. Federal and state calculations changed frequently during this time period.

This date and time is subject to change or the process is subject to stop based on feedback from the IRS.
