Due to a MeF certificate issue, Idaho will not be retrieving nor acknowledging MeF returns today and tomorrow. We anticipate resolution by tomorrow afternoon. We will communicate when we are back online. Please accept our apologies for this inconvenience.

June 20th

The Illinois Department of Revenue maintenance has been completed. We are again processing MeF submissions. We have picked up all files from the IRS that had been held during the shutdown, which began yesterday morning and continued through early afternoon today. We will be processing and acknowledging the files. Thank you for your patience during this process and I apologize for the confusion with the dates/day of week I  provided in the original email.

June 18th

Software vendors received the below messaging from Illinois Department of Revenue.

Due to unexpected required maintenance, the Illinois Department of Revenue will not be processing MeF returns beginning 8:00 AM CT, Thursday, 06/19/2019. We expect this interruption in service to continue through approximately 12:00 PM CT, Tuesday, 06/25/2019. We will honor IRS received dates on all payments and returns received during this timeframe.

Any Illinois returns submitted during this window will not receive an acknowledgement until the maintenance window has closed and processing of acknowledgements has resumed.

5/28 – Impacted returns have been resubmitted for processing. Acknowledgements should be returning over the next 24-48 hours.

Update: The fix for this is tentatively scheduled to be deployed on Tuesday, May 28th.

We wanted to make everyone aware of an issue discovered with Michigan returns with Retirement Exclusions after the deployment Thursday, May 23rd.  When transmitting these returns, the MeF backup is not being created, ultimately causing impacted MI returns with Retirement Exclusions to be “stuck”. This just means that these returns will not return an acknowledgement until the issue has been resolved and returns resubmitted internally. Our development staff is aware and expects to have the fix deployed live by the end of next week.

TaxSlayer Pro Online: State Direct Debit Validation

We have received a couple reports from the field of a validation issue specific to State Direct Debit payments (shown in the below screenshot). The issue is not widespread and seems to only sometimes impact a State Return Type where “E-file: Direct Debit” is selected. When a user attempts to save the E-file page to continue to the Submission page, they may see the below validation message shown in the screenshot. If your taxpayer wishes to have their state balance paid via Direct Debit and the direct debit validation is received, follow the steps below.

If the Direct Debit Date validation is presented (shown below) related to state direct debit payments, change the State Return Type to “E-file: Mail Payment”, save the entry by continuing to Submission page. Return to E-file and change State Return Type back to “E-file: Direct Debit” and re-enter banking information, if necessary. Continue to the Submission page to complete the e-file process.

TaxSlayer Pro Online: Issue Generating PDF with CA Returns (RESOLVED)

4/4/2019 – The fix was deployed this morning.

4/3/2019 – Issue 3389 was not deployed this morning as the scheduled deployment was postponed until Thursday, 4/4.

Late last week, Issue 3389 was opened to look into sporadic reports of returns not being able to generate a PDF. Further investigation found that returns with CA added as the state were experiencing sporadic issues generating a PDF from the Summary/Print menu and other print areas inside and outside of the return. The underlying issue causing the print issue specific to CA returns was related to CA returns that reported certain adjustments to CA income. The underlying issue has been resolved by development and the fix will be pushed live with our next deployment (scheduled for Wednesday, April 3rd).
