We will be placing the site in maintenance on Friday, March 9th at 5:00am ET to release a series of updates.

  • Fix the issue keeping the Schedule E from being included in the PDF when applicable (Issue #1523)
  • Update to remove “Rejected” returns now marked as “Paper” from being included in the Rejected Returns Report (Issue #1511)
  • Update for the CO Amended Return to not pull in the Federal Amended Explanation Entry (Issue #1364)
  • Fix a display issue for Indiana where the Personal Representative information provided within Indiana Basic Information was not carrying to Schedule 7 (Issue #1403)
  • Fix a display issue for New Mexico where the State ID listed in E-file was not being included at the bottom of the NM return. (Issue #1490)
    • If Drivers License information was entered, it was carried to the PDF as expected
  • Adding Tropical Storm Harvey and California Wildfires to the Disaster Area picklist in Basic Information
  • Zip Code Update
    • 88007 – Las Cruces, NM (Issue #1512)
  • Removed Do not Mail strip from Rhode Island Non Resident returns

Pro Online: Reports of “Program Received Unexpected Error” Requests (RESOLVED) and Indiana not Loading (RESOLVED)

The Indiana edit menus should now be loading.

Development is still investigating what is causing the Indiana program to not load the edit menus.

3/8/2018 – 11:39am ET

The issue with sporadic “Program Received Unexpected Error” requests has been resolved. Still actively investigating reports of state edit menus not loading. This seems to be primarily focused around Indiana.

We are currently investigating reports of users receiving “Program Received Unexpected Error” requests in various locations throughout return preparation as well as reports of State programs not loading the edit menu. When this message is received, you can use the back button on your browser in most cases to navigate back into the return to continue working.

Note: If accessing a state program and the edit menus are not showing, utilize CTRL+F5 to recycle the page.

Pro Online/Desktop – D.C. Reject Code for Schema Validation

The District of Columbia recently released a new schema version for DC returns. D.C. has sent a message to software vendors that any D.C. return rejected for Reject Code X0000-005. “The value of the ‘stateSchemaVersion’ attribute does not equal its fixed value” can be resubmitted AFTER 7:00pm ET tonight, March 8th.

Note: For TaxSlayer Pro Desktop sites, make sure you download the latest D.C. updates before resubmitting any D.C. returns rejected for Reject Code X0000-005.

The issue with 2015 PDF’s and calcs has been resolved

We have opened Issue #1529 to investigate reports of 2015 PDF’s and calcs not rendering when inside of a return. You are able to generate 2015 PDF’s from Client List. This also impacts the ability to transmit 2015 returns.

Note: Years 2014, 2016, and 2017 are not affected.

Pro Online/Desktop: Schedule E not Displaying in PDF (RESOLVED)

RESOLVED 3/9/18

Issue #1523 has been opened to review why the Schedule E is not being generated in the PDF view of returns where the Schedule E menu has been completed for 2017. This does not impact any calculation as the applicable value carries to Line 17 of the 1040 and all supporting statements necessary for the Schedule E are included in the PDF.

  • Update to 1099-R, box 2a entries when box 7 code is G, H, or Q. A warning will display to verify if a taxable amount in box 2a is valid (Issue #1377)
  • Fix a display issue where Apartment # entries in Basic Information were not showing on the W-7 PDF (Issue #1426)
  • Zip code updates
    • 85138 – Maricopa, AZ
  • MI CF-1040 not generating Schedule TC when completed in locality menu (Issue #1156)
  • LA fix where select Priority 2 credits were displaying incorrect codes on PDF (Issue #1395)
  • LA fix where the Ad Valorem Natural Gas (Priority 4 Credit) was not carrying to the PDF (Issue #1237)
  • MT fix for MFS returns forcing itemized deductions when spouse itemizes (Issue #1502)
  • WV Update for requirement of taxpayer e-mail address prior to reaching first e-file screen (Issue #1459)
  • ID display fix where the bank account information was not displaying on Line 76 of the ID return (Issue #1389)
  • OH validation error for $0 refund/due values on SD-100. These returns can be resubmitted (Issue #1475)
